Luggage
Luggage
For any type of travel, luggage is one of the most important things to consider. Luggage may carry such items as clothing, toiletries, trip necessities, and souvenirs. Luggage and style widely differ, depending on the status and wealth of travelers. Luxury travel would most likely include luggage that is expensive and formal.
Luggage is also referred to as baggage. Luggage comes in a large variety of sizes and styles. With more people traveling by plane, luggage sizes have become more standardized in order to fit with airline regulations.

Samsonite is the largest manufacturer of luggage in the world today. Fashion designers have also become popular in creating designer luggage.
There are many types of luggage including:
- Trunk - Generally much larger than other kinds of luggage. Trunks come in smaller sizes as in the case of footlockers and larger ones called steamers. Today trunks are used more for storage than travel.
- Suitcase - Wheeled or non-wheeled luggage, as well as soft or hard-sided luggage.
- Wheeled Upright - A relatively new type of luggage that has a handle which extends up and allows the traveler to roll the luggage in an upright position rather than carry it.
- Garment Bag - Luggage that folds allowing long garments such as suits or dresses to be packed flat and avoid creasing.
- Tote - A small bag, usually worn on the shoulder.
- Duffle - A barrel-shaped bag, almost always soft sided, with little organization or compartments inside.
- Carpet bag - Luggage traditionally made from carpets.
Different luggage should be selected depending on the type of travel one is doing. If you are going on a business trip, most likely you will include a garment bag. You would most likely select a duffle or tote if you are going on an adventure trip.
